God Upgrades to DEFCON 2

It was brought to my attention by a fellow co-worker that the "brilliant" Pat Robertson is at it again. This time he is claiming that God talked to him during a prayer and revealed that there will be a terrorist attack late this year.

Wow. Sometimes the material for the mockery mill just lands at your feet. What is wrong with this guy and how in the world is he making more money than me? He earns living as people watch him do stupid things and then they still decide to send him money. People must just have cash to burn I guess. It is like that episode of "King of Queens" where the guys can't let their wives know they gambled on a boxing match so they blow their winnings by paying Eddy Money to sing at their house... it's just like that!

Here is what I am wondering... if God were to bother to tell us about this attack wouldn't He go ahead and tell us what we could do to protect ourselves? Then again, why wouldn't He have warned us about the 9/11 attacks? That would have been helpful too. Perhaps the Almighty wasn't ready for that one so He feels that He owes us a bit of His omniscience this time around.

That leads to a whole other point altogether... why would God favor America so much that He would warn us about attacks but not Christian people in Great Britain or any other country experiencing terrorism? Does Pat really think that Americans are the only privilaged people to be blessed by God's vague warnings?

And then back to Pat... he declares that he is not right about his prophecies all the time... does this guy even own a bible? Does he not realize that if he still lived within a system where God commuicates through prophets that he would be stoned to death for being wrong even one time?

Well that is all I have time for now. I need to get back to working on my bomb shelter.
